For over 24 years, Mel Allen has been providing audio for hundreds, if not thousands, of clients. Having started in broadcasting at the age of 16, Mel has constantly worked to improve his craft. His deep, rich and authentic sound has proven very flexible - meeting clients VO needs for commercials and narrations. From Telephone Systems, MC, Radio Personality, and Producer - Mel has provided it all in a timely and efficient manner.

// What do you do?
At The Real Voice, we're all about the audio, and with our small market feel and big market skills, we have what it takes to make the audio you need. Our clients have one thing in common, they needed a voice and wanted The Real Voice to speak for them.
Feel free to sample the audio and video to the right. The audio 'drops' down and the video has buttons on the sides that will appear if you 'hover' over them with your mouse.
In addition to his natural voice, Mel has a range of styles and even character voices he can to work for you. At The Real Voice we can also work well on projects that might require multiple services working together as one.

// What are your rates?
As Mel provides many voice-over services - we can't quote them all here. Rates are generally in line with Industry Non-Union Rates. That said, rates can also be determined based on length of read/project and the turnaround time required.
Need more voices, a Master of Ceremonies, help with copywriting, require Full Production or have a Rush Job? Just ask! We may be able to help
// Who is Mel Allen?
Mel is a father of two beautiful girls, who have been involved in their fair share of voice-overs too! Mel got his start in audio production in 1987 at a college radio station when the Program Director & General Manager heard his voice as he spoke about music. They offered him an airshift on the spot and production followed immediately.
Since then he has worked toward mastering the craft of Voice Overs and audio production. In more recent times, moving toward producing, directing, coaching and developing talent.
With history spanning over 24 years in broadcasting, Mel often wore several hats - engineers assistant, website development, copywriting, producing commercials for television and more - before finding voice-overs were already his dream job.
Today Mel is also using that knowedge, partnering with clients, or groups like Your Audio Pro, and helping them develop their craft and discover affordable equipment for home and professional recording studios.
